2005 Junior Indoor Nationals

From Netherhall Archers

This year, Kathryn was shooting for the first time in the under-16s. The quality of shooting was very high - her cohort is a very high scoring group. It is noticable that when she won the U13's last year (2004) they were scoring 30 points higher than the year before. This year the U13s dropped back a a bit.

So, it was going to be a tough one! She finished 8th on 540, just short of her PB. Just a few points separated her from the places. However, the winner of the U16's was Fiona Heaver on a superb 562, beating Joanne Orbell of Jolly's who won the U18's with 556. Fiona was well ahead of second place so they all have quite a challenge in front of them.

The shoot was at Lilleshall, being a better venue than Coventry, where it has been held for the past few years (although Coventry was not bad at all). As you might expect, the range was set out to the highest standards. The juniors were all bahaving with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.

The only downside is that the tournament is now held over two days and so archers shooting on the first day are not likely to be there for the ceremonies at the end of the second day. Anyway - attendance was at its highest level for many a years and the quality was there too.
