This was an enormously friendly shoot. Kestrels are a long established club and this was was their 25th anniversary year. The shoot was their first Open Portsmouth with a well-attended shooting line in three sessions.

They have the use of the Sandy Upper School's excellent gymnasium - a huge room with a high roof and very good, even lighting - not at all harsh.

Kathryn and I participated. Kathryn took the Junior Girls recurve gold medal, scoring 529 and I errrmmm... didn't! She did very well because that medal was for the entire 11 to 18 age range.

Those of us who have attended Kestrels' outdoor shoots in the past will be familiar with the cordial and relaxed running of their shoots. This was no exception.

Next year my friends, let's have more of us there!
