Photo Gallery Styles
From Netherhall Archers
This is the general help page for anyone trying to add some photos to the site.
Please try and stick to these guidelines to make sure the website remains clean and tidy.
Adding a photo gallery
The first thing to do is add a link to your new gallery from the Photo Gallery site
This is achieved by adding the following text under the previous gallery:
[[MyGalleryName|<h2>Name_Of_Gallery</h2>]] Extra information people might want to know. For example the name and the date
The text above will result in a link like this
My New Photo Gallery
These photos have been taken at the something or other shoot on someday by A.N.other. We all had a jolly good time
Please click on the link above (My New Photo Gallery) for an example photo gallery.
Adding an image
Please see the help already available. If this doesn't do it for you, then why not ask a question at the village pump?
Creating an image gallery
There is an easy way in a wiki to produce nice photo galleries using the gallery-tag.
The gallery-tag is a quick way to show thumbnails in four columns. Each entry is of the form "Image:image name or "Image:image name|caption, possibly with links". It also allows text taking the position of an image, but not with links: if a text entry contains a link, the whole entry is ignored; an image tag with square brackets is also ignored.

These were originally medieval weapons, but a still shot today Image:Longbow.gif|A comment can go here Image:Longbow.gif|This is another longbow Image:Longbow.gif|This is the third longbow A gallery of recurve bows. A lot of modern archers shoot these Image:Recurvebow.jpg|The first recurve Image:Recurvebow.jpg|You have the idea now? Image:Recurvebow.jpg|I'm sure you do! But look what happens to a particularly longwinded comment. </gallery>
This will produce something that looks like this:
