Sample Photo Gallery

From Netherhall Archers

This section outlines the format for photo galleries in our website. Rather than just adding complete photos, we would prefer that you use gallery feature, which includes thumbnailing, to ensure that photo pages load quickly for those of us not lucky enough to have access to broadband.

To start each page please add some information about where the photos were taken and why they are interesting.

For example:
A.N.Other and other club members went to the village pump archery competition on 1st April, 1492. We both shot really well (put a link to the clubs website here), but Joe Bloggs walked off with the trophy...

Then put your gallery. Remember that a few really good photos are usually better than hundred of poor photos of your foot and thumb!

We only have limited space on our web-server so please try to keep photos under 150 kilobytes when uploading them

The website: [1] (http://www.resize2mail.com/) seems to do resizing of images for free. Many common photo packages also can do this quite easily. Try adjusting either the resolution or the size of the image, or if this fails convert the image to a .jpg. For those a little more advanced in fiddling with computers ImageMagick (http://www.imagemagick.org/) is a great piece of public domain software to do the same function.

An example gallery is shown below. Note that you can add captions to your gallery (see here). Adding some information will allow others to enjoy your photos even more.
